Hi, my name is Sharon but 'Shar' (as in the word 'share'), for short. I was dx'ed on Feb. 18th, 1997 (ironically my ex husband's birthday - figures!). I was dx'ed with RR, I've been taking neuron tin for the past 7 years and have been on/off of
Copaxone. I have to admit I don't like injections, but I know when PhilNE comes to stay with me soon, he'll make sure that I take them. Ahh yes, the things we do for love.
I have been divorced for 18 years, I have one son who will be 22 on April 10, 2007. I have a dog, a cat and a fish. I love just about all kinds of music, in my 'younger' years I had been a singer in a band.
I have been working for the same company for the past 11 years as of April 1, 2007. I will admit I push myself too hard to show I can still work. I'm not sure if I'm doing that for myself, my son, or to the people that I work with.
Since moving back to my home state of Connecticut in June of 2005, I've had a car accident in which I totaled my car, then the following month, I took a fall, tore the ligaments and cartilage in my right knee. Its still bothering me, but like everything due to the
MonSter, I try hard not to think about it. It will remind me at times.
As I mentioned earlier, PhilNE will be coming to see me soon, and I can't wait for that. I keep trying to warn him that I can be one of the worst patients and he's going to have to 'deal' with all that I will go through before, during and after surgery I'm scheduled to have on June 4, 2007. Phil and I have been talking on and off for a few years, but in January of 2007, things took a turn for the better. Phil has made me see the beauty there is out there again.
I know I can't wait to be Deb and Red soon as well, since we don't live too far from one another. I think the best thing I can say about having MS is finding a love that is greater than anything, and finding friends again, and meeting new friends to help and who I can help through the good and the bad times.
Also have to explain the picture is from June 2006 when I was recuperating from my knee surgery. Gee what two percocets can do to you!
