I'm Lynne Frances Shaw, chat name LFShaw. I was diagnosed in July of 2005. My worst attacks were after the birth of my second child. I could not walk without holding on to anything in reach and I lost vision in my right eye. An MRI was ordered and there was my companion for life....Multiple Sclerosis. I finally got the explanations for all the ill health. I was shocked, scared, but most of all relieved to finally know what was going on with my body. Fortunately all of my "quirks" seem to remit.

I have been married to my husband, Mike, for 5 years and we have 2 beautiful children. I am a stay-at-home Mom. Prior to motherhood I'd been in retail management for 15 years. Now my husband and I own a business. It's a document imaging and electronic filing company and has taken off which keeps us very busy.

I and my twin sister were born in Philadelphia and put up for adoption at birth. We remained in foster care until we were adopted together at the age of 18 months. After a short life in Philly we moved to Cincinnati due to my Father's job with
Procter and Gamble. While growing up in Ohio I took up dance (ballet, pointe, and tap) and played soccer. After I graduated high school, I gave up dance to play intercollegiate soccer on scholarship for Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN.  College is where I met my husband and we both remained in Tennessee after graduation. I graduated with a B.A. in Business Management.

I have various interests in life including gardening, travelling abroad, reading, writing and meeting new friends with MS.

" How could we forget those ancient myths that stand at the beginning of all races, the myths about dragons that at the last moment are transformed into princesses? Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.  So you mustn't be frightened...... if a sadness rises in front of you, larger than any you have ever seen; if an anxiety, like light and cloud-shadows, moves over your hands and over everything you do. You must realize that something is happening to you, that life has not forgotten you, that it holds you in its hand and will not let you fall."

-Rainer Maria Rilke
